New West Shutter and Blind custom designs and builds plantation shutters to your specific window dimensions. Square, Rectangular, Arched, even round shapes will be expertly sized by a trained shutter technician with a designer's eye. Each opening will be evaluated and reviewed with you to determine important details such as mounting, number of panels, most convenient hinging patterns and appropriate louver size. AMI (advanced manufacturing integrator) automation eliminates error in the layout, design and calculation process. Your order is transmitted directly from the AMI software program to the manufacturing floor. |

Hardwood Construction
New West Shutter and Blind uses Select and Better Basswood for all of its shutter products. Basswood is by nature dry, stable and pale in color. These properties make it resistant to extreme temperature reactions like warpage or discoloration. In addition, the wood is kiln dried and has excellent grain characteristics resulting in superior paint and stain finishes. |

Shutter Construction
At New West Shutter and Blind we build shutters in the tradition of fine woodworking and cabinetry. Shutters include: Doweled construction on stiles and rails, Rabbeted adjoining panels, nylon louvre pins, a concealed Tight-Louvre system, tapered louvres, and mortised hinges. |

Color and Stain Options
At New West Shutter and Blind we offer a wide range of colors for both painted and stained finishes. The 10 stock paint colors are white and off whites created to coordinate with the most popular designer door and trim colors. The 13 stain options range fro a white maple through a deep mahogany. Custom colors are available for a small additional charge in both paint and stained shutters. We use environmentally safe products such as water-borne finishes with no VOC emissions |

Finishes
Textured: New West Shutter and Blind's textured or "Windswept" finish is achieved through a process of "brushing" the wood surface prior to priming. This process accentuates the wood grain creating a soft natural look without over etching. This finish is available in both painted and stained shutter finishes.
Smooth: Our smooth "Mill" finish is one of the finest in the industry. Just the right amount of sheen creates a truly elegant patina. This finish is available in painted and stained shutters. |
